I Heart Faces Book Photo Challenge

This week at I Heart Faces, our photo challenge is books. The assignment is to include some sort of book in your photo.

I love to read and since I got my Nook Color, I am reading even more than ever. I thought of doing a serious photo of me reading to my daughter, or her standing next to a big giant pile of books… but I had to be silly! My daughter and I are much better at that than being serious.

One book that I’m always reading a chapter here and a chapter there, is Have a New Kid by Friday. What more appropriate for a photo with my daughter! It would have been much funnier if you could tell what I’m reading. Unfortunately, my husband loathes book jacket covers and as soon as he gets his hands on a book cover, he throws it away. So imagine the cover of the book saying “Have a New Kid by Friday!” Thanks:-)

Valentine’s Day Photo Ideas

If you have a small child or grandchild, take time to do something CUTE with photos. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to take out that camera and get creative.

I know I wish I had done more of that when my son was little, because now there is NO WAY I can get him to do my cute poses anymore or wear something adorable. Boo!

For example, you could set up a silly kissing booth as a photo booth. Of course moms are doing all of the kissing right??

Nancy from A to Zebra Celebrations came up with this fun idea for a photo booth for a Valentine’s Day Party. We’ll show you the all of the amazing party details on Monday, but here is a sneak peek at the photo booth.

Really, just wearing some lipstick and kissing your child’s cheek makes an adorable photo! That’s if they’ll let you do it:-)

My other website, I Heart Faces, is having it’s third year anniversary this week!! It seems like just a few months ago that Angie and I were planning our ideas for a fun little website, never thinking it would last this long or become as popular as it did! So popular that we’re now ranked in the top 15 out of all photography blogs! Crazy huh?

We’re having a BIG celebration this week with a fantastic guest judge, amazing giveaways and our favorite photo challenge of the year… “Best Face Photo of 2011″.

I looked through a lot of my photos and this Baseball Party photo has to be one of my most favorite photos from 2011! It’s just so cute and vintage, the boys were so good, plus I had a blast styling everything!

The Vintage Baseball Party Printables are now available in my shop. It’s a great party collection for any age. My friend Christel from Boutique Mia designed the boy’s clothes. She makes the most amazing handmade clothing.

25 Elf On The Shelf Ideas {Free Posing Guide}

I have been having a lot of fun catching our Elf On The Shelf, Peter, doing some wacky things! He really enjoys taking marshmallow baths and is always up to something silly!

I recently asked those of you on Facebook to send me your elf photos and in about 5 minutes, my in box was loaded! Apparently there are a ton of crazy little elves out there watching over little boys and girls. I got so many, that I couldn’t feature them all here, so I chose 25 photos to feature in a “free posing guide” e-book.

Here are a few of my favorites little elves…

Dana’s elf, Bixby, was caught texting in the middle of the night. Shame on him!

Shannon’s elf, named Shelf, was a good little guy and delivered donuts all the way from The North Pole! Yum!

Samuel Bernard, Ginger’s elf, tried trapping her kids in their bedrooms! What a prankster!

Adorable Puppies – Pet Photo Challenge

Our photo challenge at I Heart Faces this week is Pets and the photo must include a face.

There’s nothing cuter than puppy faces. Well, maybe kitty faces… or puppies and kittens together! I met these little babies on Halloween night. They were in a wagon with their parents who were dressed in little doggie costumes. All of the children were going crazy over the cuteness.

I hope they made you smile. We always have a blast on pet week!
