It’s Back to School Party time as I host a week of new craft ideas by some of my favorite DIY bloggers.
It’s easier than you think to get creative with school lunches. I love this fun bento box lunch idea by Jill from Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons. She always comes up with the cutest fun food for her boys, and I’m so happy to have her guest posting today. Enjoy!
Hi everyone! My name is Jill & I have 3 little boys that love to get creative in the kitchen with me! We have a blast making all sorts of fun food and we are so excited to be sharing how to make a Back to School lunch with you today!
How to Make a Back to School Bento Lunch
Making a fun school themed lunch is simple, you just need these items:
- Sandwich of Choice using 2 Pieces of Whole Wheat White Bread
- 1 Strawberry & 1 Blueberry Fruit Roll Up
- 1 Cheese Stick
- 1 Bugle Chip
- 1 Raisin
- 1 Slice of Turkey Lunch Meat
- 2 Strawberry Starburst Candies
- Cheez-It Scrabble Letter Crackers
- 1 Red Apple (halved)
- 1 Bento Lunch Container (we used Easy Lunch Boxes)
School Paper Sandwich: Cut off the crusts using kitchen scissors. Make any type of sandwich your kids will like & place it in the bento box. Place a fruit roll up on a cutting board and cut thin strips using a knife to make the lines on the outside of the bread (paper).
Edible pencil: place a cheese stick on the side adding a Bugle chip to the top. We cut off the tip of a raisin to look like lead. We cut a few square pieces from a turkey slice & stacked them up at the bottom for the eraser.
Eraser: Heat two strawberry Starburst in the microwave for 8 seconds. Then shape them to look like an eraser.
We included Cheez-it Scrabble Crackers. These are awesome & kids will love making words with them!
Cut a red apple in half & then cut out a A+ from the peel on top. You will want to add a little bit of lemon juice to prevent browning.
Here is my very happy 2-year-old with his Back to School Bento! Amy, thank you so much for having us share one of our creations with all of you today!
