Today is our last day at the beautiful in Jamaica. Yesterday we went on the most amazing adventure traveling down the Black River looking for crocodiles and then to the YS Falls. I can’t wait to show you photos of that trip!
Today, what stands out most in my mind from this trip is the service of the staff at our villa and the beauty of the home and grounds! The people of Jamaica are so friendly and fun.
Not only do we get served on beautiful china for each meal, but even the appetizers are served on silver trays. Everything we could want or need is provided. It’s like nothing I have ever experienced before. All meals, drinks, snacks, cocktails and staff are included in your villa price.
You might think this kind of trip is way more expensive than you could ever afford. It’s not cheap, but I have been a lot of places and this is only slightly more expensive than our usual family trips like Disney, Mexico, The Outerbanks, Hilton Head, etc. and those vacations did not include this type of excellent service, amazing scenery or the relaxing time like we have had here at Bluefields Bay Villas as a family.
We figured if we brought another family or two with us next time, it will actually be cheaper than our other vacations. So while reading my posts, please don’t let the price scare you away. The homes are huge and include 3-4 bedrooms, 3-5 private deck areas, a private pool, several private seating areas along the ocean path, a private section of the beach just for villa guests and lots of activities if you want to do them. It’s such a nice change from the big resorts.
If you have a lot of children and cousins, Bluefields Bay is perfect for family trips!
As a busy working mom, I so appreciate having someone do my laundry. So not only are we staying at the most gorgeous home, but our dirty laundry magically appears clean in our closets each day! That, my friends, made my trip. ha!
You might think it’s odd to go on vacation and have staff all around the house. But they know how to give you privacy and make you feel so at home… but way better!
I can’t say enough about the gorgeous beaches here in Jamaica. The waters are protected at Bluefields and you will see no fishing boats or hardly a boat at all. It’s paradise!
Best of all for me personally is our nanny Sasha!
My son is old enough to do his own thing, but my daughter is all about “watch me”, “play with me” , “swim with me”. As much as I love to watch her, it gets tiring after a while. ha!
If you aren’t used to having a nanny or babysitter, you might feel uneasy leaving your child with a stranger. I thought the same thing before coming here. But after meeting the sweet nannies and realizing they stay right with you pretty much the entire time, my worries were all for nothing!
Just to have time to read on the beach or walk around taking photos and knowing my daughter was having just as much fun as me is the best feeling!
They have games, toys and play with them on the beach and in the pool to give you some alone time. I really enjoyed kayaking with my husband up the ocean shore yesterday. We don’t get much alone time, so just that small amount of time was so nice.
Siena bonded with Sasha right away, and Sasha is spoiling her big time! I don’t know what we’ll do when we get home. Ha!
Along with painting her face, she gave her Jamaican braids and “watched” her do everything. I have even witnessed her feeding my child. Oh boy! ha!
We giggled at the jerk chicken lunch for the villa guests where all of the nannies were feeding the little kids while the parents didn’t have a care in the world. Then we realized our kids were right there in the middle of it. So funny! (Oh, by the way… that lunch was sooooo good! The food here is fabulous!)
They really spoil all of the children here at ! It’s so nice!!! I wish I had known about this place when my kids were smaller. It’s perfect for families with small children or babies.
I feel perfectly comfortable with all of the nannies and Sasha has been amazing.
As you can see… this little princess can’t get enough spoiling. ha!
So far, this has been our best family vacation yet! We will be so sad to leave, but will come back for sure!

NOTE: Since writing this post, I have been asked about the food. I wanted to write a bit more about it here.
What is awesome about having a private chef is they can make anything you want! Everything we have eaten has been wonderful. Breakfast is the usual American food, pancakes, french toast, eggs. Then dinner and lunch include a fish or meat and vegetable. Your choice. But they have been making my kids special food because they are so picky. Rice, grilled chicken, chicken nuggets, hamburgers, fries and fruit.

Oh, Amy…just awesome! I love Jamaica and the people are always so nice! We have been lucky enough to stay at a resort like that with a nanny when our kids were small. We went a few years in a row and it was super relaxing and everyone had a blast! It is the way to go!!

We got cheap direct flights from Dallas. Only a 3 hour flight, I was surprised it was so quick to get here. Hoping if we plan ahead enough, the flights will be even cheaper next time.
It looks positively heavenly! Still can’t get over the cost, even off season. Add on airfare, and wow!
