Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd to increase awareness of the Earth’s environment. It’s a great day to teach kids about recycling and saving energy. To celebrate, I made Free Printable Earth Day Bookmarks! Each Earth Day Bookmark says “Love the Earth” along with 5 simple ways to do just that.
These free printable Earth Day Bookmarks are a fun and simple way to help kids learn about ways they can help the earth. The happy earth illustration on the bookmarks can be cut out with a 2″ circle punch to be used as fun tags, pencil toppers or ornaments. Decorate a classroom with them or hand them out to friends and classmates. I hope you enjoy these cute bookmarks!
5 Ways to Love the Earth on Earth Day
These are the five items included on the bookmark…
1. Recycle and repurpose items.
This is a simple thing that any kid can do on Earth Day! Ask them to go through their room and see if there are things they could reuse instead of throwing away.
2. Don’t leave the refrigerator door open.
How many times have your kids stood there looking into the refrigerator while the door is open? That uses a lot of energy, so this is a simple thing kids can do to help love the earth!
3. Turn off lights when not using them.
This is a no brainer… turn off the lights. A good reminder for all ages.
4. Take a shorter shower.
Save water by taking shorter showers on Earth Day and then maybe put that into practice more often!
5. Plant a tree.
Planting a tree is one of the most fun things you can do on Earth Day! Give back to our earth with this fun activity.
