I made these cake pops for my son’s Lego party! Aren’t they cute? Not bad for my first attempt at Bakerella’s adorable creations.
Directions
- Bake a cake and mash it up with a can of frosting.
- Roll a small handful of mashed up cake into a ball, then carefully rolled the ball on wax paper to make the Lego head shape.
- The connector on top is a small round marshmallow. I sliced up a large marshmallow and used a Wilton frosting tip to cut out a small circle. You could also use a mini marshmallow cut in half or an M&M.
- Arrange on wax paper and stick a lollipop stick in the top.
- Once assembled, freeze the cake pops, then dip into yellow candy melts and let cool before drawing faces on them.

A much faster version is to make marshmallow pops! I made several of these as a tester and they turned out super cute.
Slicing off the bottom of a large marshmallow and cutting a circle out of it with a frosting tip for the top worked great.

Err Lego Head Cake Pops? I have a general distrust of cake on a stick, but these are stupidly cute http://t.co/vrEkIun

Thank you for the lego head cake pop idea. My son had a pack meeting for cub scouts and they did lego racing. These “pops” were a hit. I did the cake version so I could it but I also did a marshmallow version and they looked and tasted just as good and were much easier. My one thing to add… don’t use those cake writing pens. They don’t work. Just buy the black frosting in a tube and a SMALL decorator tip for best results.

Hi,
I really love your cake lego lollipops!. I already tried to make them for the birthday of my son. But when ik dipped the cake in the candy melts it wasn’t that smooth as it is on your picture. I didn’t freeze the cake first, will that be the trigger?
Ik melted the candy with the dubble boiler method.
Can you help me out?
Thanks.

My son’s party is in a week but I made 3 test pops yesterday. They came out great EXCEPT I bought a food marker and it doesn’t want to write on the candy melts, it seems like they are too slick and the marker just doesn’t take. Any ideas for me? I am wondering if I should used melted chocolate but I am afraid they will look sloppy. Also how far ahead can I make these? I am hoping maybe 3 days? Thanks!

These are *brilliant*, and marshmallows would be SO much easier to work with than those cake balls!

Did you freeze the marshmellows too?
