Our theme this week is “Texture” with the queen of textures, Shana Rae, founder of the Flora Bella Collection as our guest judge.
My entry is a photo I took last week of my daughter eating a lollipop. It was just a plain, boring shot until I added a few textures and actions from the Flora Bella Collection. I’m so excited to have received this wonderful gift from Shana. I’m having a blast playing around with all of her beautiful creations. Thanks Shana, we’re excited to have you at I Heart Faces this week!!
I hope you’ll visit I Heart Faces and enter a photo this week!
I’m one of the Co-Founders of I Heart Faces and just entering for fun.
P.S. – Here is my straight out of the camera shot.
Disclaimer: The Flora Bella Collection was a gift in exchange for review. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely my own.

OK. grrrr. My house is still a mess, the laundry is still piled high, and I still need to get dishes out of the dishwasher. BUT… even without Photoshop, I did finally figure out a LITTLE bit about texture. I’ve played off and on (mostly on, darn it) all day and have updated the pic on my post three times. With post processing texture. Then without it cause I hated it. Then WITH it again but maybe a little better. Not dreamy; definitely nubbly and rough. But by gosh, I got me some texture! And I do feel like I moved another baby step forward in understanding some of what goes on. Maybe… just maybe, for the 10 year anniversary of I Heart Faces, I’ll finally produce something good. In the meantime…thanks again for making me stretch….

I would have never have guessed she was eating a lollipop.
It’s a nice edit. The texture gives the shot a lot more depth and a bit of mystery too.
