This week at I Heart Faces it’s all about your story in photos. Our theme is “Places I Love”. With Valentine’s Day on the way, we thought it would be interesting to see some of your most romantic (or just regular) places. There is no judge, it’s just a week of fun and hopefully a way to get to know one another better.
I had a lot of fun going through old photos for this challenge, when in reality I should have been preparing for Blissdom! Oh well, sometimes it’s nice to take a blast through the past:-) There are many places I love, but here are several that stand out in my memory as being the top favorites.
Disclaimer: All of the following photos are at least 8-12 years old. Hopefully I’ll make it back to get some photos with my good camera in the next decade or two!
Our honeymoon in St. Lucia was a place I love! We stayed at Anse Chastanet, before it was anything but a few tree houses. Now it’s a fancy spa destination. We relaxed on the black sand beach, snorkeled, rode bikes through the rain forest and went on sunset cruises. Ahhhh!
Soon after getting married we traveled through Italy. Venice was definitely the most romantic.
This was the patio of our hotel. There were so many beautiful, unexpected spots in Venice.
Rome is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been. This was a magical site.
My husband and I sat in silence at the top of the Colosseum for a long time taking it all in.
I sifted through a bag of old photos (taken in film…GASP!) and found my château of Chenonceau shot. It’s in the Loire Valley of France and is known as the castle of queens. This photo does not do this justice at all. If you are ever interested in visiting a romantic, beautiful castle with amazing scenery and gardens, you must make a trip here!
What are some places you love?
I hope you’ll visit I Heart Faces and enter your story this week!

Hi Amy,
I’m Angie’s SIL. I saw your picture from St. Lucia, and recognized that beach! We went to St. Lucia on our honeymoon too, and we went snorkeling at Anse Chastanet but stayed at Ladera. We loved it!

Amy, these are gorgeous! It just is amazing what you capture, especially the coliseum – so beautiful. I love old stuff.
We too spent our honeymoon on St. Lucia at a place called Couples. The week we were there is when St. Lucia hung their very first traffic light which was right at our resort. They even had a constant video running on TV showing everyone what to do at the traffic light.
Great pictures, great memories for you.

Wow I love that castle photo! If I can ever talk my husband into visiting France (he went once before and hated it!), I would most certainly have to visit it. I’m a huge fan of castles.
And the Colosseum? My god, I would probably sit there all day just taking it in as well.
Beautiful photos.

My husband and I spent hours at the Coliseum, too! It was really quite awesome being there and knowing that hundreds (?) of years ago, they were having chariot races and gladiator fights, etc. there.
