It’s been a wild few weeks around here! Knee surgery, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas decorating… oh the craziness!

Here is a bit of fun from the past week:

My mom came to visit last week. We did all kinds of fun things with the kids like going to the Gaylord Texan’s ICE exhibit. We cracked up at everyone in their parkas! It was like a bunch of people from another planet.

The ice was amazing, but the slides were all my kids cared about seeing. That’s one COLD slide!

I had a fun night at a friend of mine’s photography studio. I’m still going through all the wonderful images of the kids. Shooting kids sure can wear you out though! I was exhausted after just 20 minutes and I wasn’t even the photographer! Kudos to her:-)

I stood in a very long line with friends to see The Pioneer Woman! If you didn’t already know, Ree is from my little hometown in Oklahoma! I know her husband, but haven’t had the chance to meet her in person yet. So it was wonderful to finally get to talk with her.

I got the last two books in the store! Whew! I was surprised to find my friend Jane in the book. How cool is that? She needs to sign it for me! ha.

Jane

This was my sweet and funny line buddy Angie, a friend from college. Her sister went to high school with Ree. So we had the home town double whammy going on!

Awwww! So fun!

Ree

This was taken at 1:30 am!!! Yes, I’m crazy and still tired! ha. Ree was sweet as could be and was smiling the entire night. I bet her cheeks were really tired:-)

I was very brief in my post about Ree because I wrote ALL about it on I Heart Faces. Go check it out. It was an exciting night!!

As much fun as I’m sure it would have been, I have to say I’m glad I didnt’ go…I wouldn’t have been functioning Wednesday! What a fun night…so sorry I missed out! Just to meet TipJunkie would have made the entire trip worth it.

Can’t wait to see how your little kids came out in the “snow” photos. Did you get a chance to take any Wed morning snow photos? My son is going to be in all 17 NeighborsGo editions in the DFW metro this Fri. You can get a copy at Starbucks.

Whew! Now that I sounded all ad-like (sorry, just excited for my little boy), have a great day and let us know how you like the new cookbook!

  9. Hey! The ice thing is super cool! I got to meet Pioneer Woman in Little Rock Arkansas about a month ago. It was so cool to meet her. We drove all the way from MS to see her! I posted about it on my blog. Have you made anything yet? We made the cinnamon rolls over the Thanksgiving holiday and I’ve made her Pasta a la Punk Betsy and OMG they are both wonderful!!
    I love your blog!
    Have a wonderful day.
