Halloween M&M Cookies in a Jar

Cookies in a jar are great homemade gifts for teachers and friends! We made these tasty Halloween M&M Cookies in a Jar craft many years ago at one of my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meetings and I thought you would enjoy making them!

One of my favorite memories as a kid was making M&M cookies with my Grandma. She always had M&M candy in her house and these were the only cookies I can ever remember her making! So I especially love making these cookies for gifts as it brings back such fond memories.

To make your homemade cookies gift extra cute this Halloween, I designed free printable Happy Halloween circle tags for the jar along with printable instructions for gift giving these cookies. I hope you enjoy this fun food gift!

  4. Is there any way to change to tag to read “Happy Thanksgiving”? My MOPS group has a make a take meeting planned for Nov 5 and a mason jar mix is one thing we are doing. We don’t meet again in October though!

  5. Most “cookie in a jar” recipes call for quart sized, wide-mouth mason jars. You can find them by the dozen right now at WalMart or most grocery stores in the canning section.

But my question is… where can you find the Halloween colored M&M’s this year? All I can locate are the “fall” bags, and those colors are way too drab for this cute project. I even looked on the official M&M site and it appears they only have the fall ones. Has anyone seen it around this year??!

  6. Hi, I am an italian girl and I find this site as a link from “shabby chic interiors”. I have a shop and I would like to buy something “shabby” for my customer.

    Compliments for your ideas…great…

  7. These are nice, but I was curious if you had an alternate like “Happy Harvest” or something for those who have a conscience objection to Halloween? Also, do you have any response cards for parties? Thank you so much for your wonderful gifts either way.

  8. @Carmen,

Good question… 🙂 I just bought the big ones at Walmart. They only had this size and tiny ones. Not sure of the exact size. Does anyone know? I don’t have a jar handy right now…

  9. Is there any way I could con you into making the cookie printable labels with a Christmas theme? I made a ton of these for Halloween, and I’d love to do it again for Christmas. They were a huge hit, and so, so cute. Pretty please!
