i love this idea! i used to use shaving cream in my classroom a few times a year to clean the student's desks off with. they LOVED it and it worked really well. i'd put a pile on their desk, then they would play with it until it pretty much disappeared. we wiped it down then with a sponge and PRESTO...a clean desk! my classroom always smelled like a man when we were done, but it was well worth the smiles and fun!

That is SUCH a creative idea! I can't wait to do that with Baby C when she starts writing...or not writing, as it appears your sweet daughter loved it, too!

Oh gosh this Texas heat is driving me crazy! I want to let the boys play outside, but it is SO hot out there.

I let the kids go to the neighbor's house and get sprayed by the neighbor's grandmother with the water hose. The kids had a blast squirting each other.

I got a break.

We used shaving cream when I taught older 3's in preschool. They LOVED writing and drawing in it, AND we had nice, clean tables when we were done. We also mixed shaving cream and glue 1/2 and 1/2; when used on blue or black construction paper, it makes great "snow" pictures that have texture and a 3D look. In the heat of summer, those pictures might look pretty "cool"! Another thing that'll keep kids busy forever is cutting; get an underbed storage tote, fill it with paper scraps, and give the kids blunt scissors. Let them cut to their heart's content. Oh, and sorting; coins, or beads, or marbles.. and an egg carton. My K5 Sunday school class would sort until I made them quit. Ahh, memories of when kids could be so easily entertained (without TV or video games....)!
