I Heart Faces Beach Photo Challenge

Theme: Beach

If you aren’t a regular reader of my blog, then you might not know that I’ve been preparing for my daughter’s mermaid party all week. So I’ve got mermaids on the brain!! When I saw this photo of my niece from last summer, of course had to use it as my Beach entry!! My kids wouldn’t let me create sand art from them, luckily my sweet niece did:-)

If you want to see photos from the mermaid party, they’re online now! It turned out so cute, the girls (and big brothers) had lots of fun.

I LOVE sand castles! If I could pick between going to a fancy art museum or a sand castle making contest… the sand would win hands down! ha. What’s the best sand art you’ve seen or created?

I’m a co-founder of I ? Faces and only joining in this photo challenge for fun!

Come on over and enter a photo or at least take a look at all the fun entries:-)

Great shot. My girls love turning themselves into sand mermaids. My boy? He prefers if we turn him into a shark. Have a fun party!

Cute image. Good work with the angle and her arms. I’ve taken sand sculpture images before and it can be hard to show dimension and have it come out looking at all interesting as it did in person. Nice work! You know she will remember it forever, too.

  17. Now I’ve seen some clever sand sculptures, but a living mermaid, that tops the cake! (with boys we dont see many mermaids….) Fun entry!

  18. Oh my goodness Amy! This is so cute : ). You are such a great artist…even with sand! I can’t wait to hear more about the party. Kaishon loves mermaids. Of course I could never have a mermaid party for him, but I still want to check it out. Maybe I will have a girl someday!

Pffffft. I have tried all afternoon to get the button to post. I’ve downloaded the pic, uploaded it, and added the link back in. I’ve practically stood on my head, reciting the Declaration of Independence backwards and I STILL can’t get it to show up. It does show up in visual mode, but not on the post itself. So. It’s up to you. I can post it on my blogger blog, or I can post it in my new one with the regular link within the post. You call it. I’ll abide by what you say. (quivering lower lip.. big pouty face… one tiny tear trickling down from the corner of the eye…) LOL… :<)

  23. Does it technically have to be beach? Could it be sand dune too since it involves sand? Or am I making it difficult :)

  24. OMG – this totally reminds me of a story from our vacation that I forgot to tell you about. lol!

Making mermaids out of sand is so much fun. Super cute!

What a great picture! SHe’s workin’ it for all she’s worth! I love sand art, too; I never realized how incredibly creative folks can be til we went to the Lighthouse. Each retreat, there has been at least one family that totally rocks the sand art theme. There have been dragons, and ladies (one of them posted a pic on their blog of a lady they did elsewhere, and they used seaweed in a .. um.. *private* area. It was totally hilarious!). That’s just not my medium, although I like to take pictures of them! Can’t wait to see all of the cool pics that will be posted this week; you KNOW it’s gonna be over the top!
