I was deleting old files on my server yesterday when I found photos I posted about 8 years ago of our trip to Italy. This was pre-kids when life was so much easier! LOL! We could sleep late, we were young and skinny, we could go on trips when and where ever we wanted… oh… the good ol’ days:-) Come on and enjoy my trip down memory lane…
Ready for a night out in Rome! Is that the Rachel cut from Friends?? LOL! My hubby is looking hot:-) That was back when he would let me dress him. hee!
This courtyard was the first glimpse I got of Rome. I was in awe!!
The most breath taking thing I’ve ever seen. Take a virtual tour of the Colosseum here.
This was near the Vatican. I remember practically chasing these nuns. They were walking so fast!
The Pantheon is one of the oldest and well preserved ancient temples in Rome.
Venice was my husband’s favorite city. Mostly because there were no cars and we stayed in a wonderful small hotel next to St. Mark’s Square where everything was located. Plus everyone said our last name so gorgeous! It was so romantic and such a beautiful city.
This was our hotel’s courtyard. It was one of those cheap places… I was scared of what it would be like it was so cheap. (that was back before most small hotels had nice web sites and photos) But it turned out to be our most favorite of the trip! They had the cutest Leonardo DiCaprio look alike guy show us around and take us on a boat ride through the city. Which didn’t seem real at all to me. I felt like I was in Disney World it was so perfect.
Drinking vino on St. Mark’s Square and listening to beautiful music. Ahhhh Venice! This is where I saw Heath Ledger. He walked by us while we were eating outside.
Florence and Tuscany were my favorite places!
I loved Florence because of the food! Even the street vendors had the most unbelievable food. All I did was eat and eat some more in Florence.
The ancient city of Siena was getting ready for their famous horse race called Palio di Siena. They turn the piazza into a horse track and each horse and jockey represent a section of the city. Colorful flags representing each ward covered the city. This apparently is the most insane horse race ever! They fight with each other while racing and many of the jockeys get thrown off their horses. Would be pretty amazing and crazy thing to see someday!
That’s all I have for you today. Hope you enjoyed visiting Italy for the day:-) I’m ready to hop on a plane right about now! What was one of your favorite vacations?

Aaaaaah… Florence and gelato! Mmmmm! I went to Italy back in 1999. The beauty was indescribable! I never saw a Leonardo DiCaprio look-alike or Heath Ledger. Bummmer!
I was 16 when I went (school trip) and those little Italian men on scooters were constantly driving by me and pinching my rear. Seriously!
