Patio Makeover

Spring fever hit! No, truth be told I was procrastinating on doing real work and decided to spend the day outside instead.

We have two levels to our deck. I love to eat outside, but never want to carry all the food, drinks and kids downstairs where the table is. So I used all my muscles and carried the table upstairs to the top deck and put the chairs I had up there on the bottom level. This is what it looked like when I got the table up there…

After a quick run to Garden Ridge for buy one get one half off patio cushions…

Another before shot as I was moving old worn out furniture.

After…

The white flowers are $3.99 fake ones I found at Garden Ridge. Look real don’t they? I like to mix in some real plants with fake, because it never fails… that I forget to water them and they die. Eventually I will add more real ones, but for now these will do just fine.

I found this bamboo rug for $19. I needed it big time because our deck’s stain comes right off on your feet! Bad when you have little kids and white carpet!

So now we’ve been eating outside every night! Don’t know why I didn’t move things around years ago? A few nights ago we pretended we were on vacation. I was sitting outside in Italy, my son was at Lego Land, my daughter was in Paris and husband in Mexico on the beach (all of this according to my son)! ha. I’m glad we have good imaginations because it will be a while before we make it to any of those places:-) At least now I’m happy to have a nice place to pretend.

Have you completed any new spring projects? Please leave a comment and let me know what you’ve been up to. Add a link if you did a post about it.

Your patio looks lovely. I love the cushions! I have been trying to get my garden started. The weather has still been pretty stinky so I haven’t gotten to as much as I would like to. :)

Wow! That looks lovely. I so wish I were able to move onto fun things like this; but instead, we are constantly working on/renovating the inside of our early 1900s house/hospital. You can read about it at http://melindabrookshire.blogspot.com

Gosh, this looks soooo lovely. I can’t wait to spruce up my porch this year. I’m concentrating on my “curb appeal” this summer. Thanks for the inspiration!

Your patio looks beautiful. I work at a school and have Spring Break for almost 3 weeks. I am hoping to clean out my whole storage shed (just condense, get rid of what I don’t need, etc). If I have extra time, I would like to do the same for my mom (I’m not sure she will ever get to it).
