The biggest hair wins!!

Thanks to everyone who participated in my BIG 80’s Hair Contest! Now remember ladies, we are laughing with you, not at you! ha ha ha!

stevemason 80s hair picture

Get ready to go back in time… Can you hear Bonjovi?

No… I don’t know the big haired family above. I think they go down in the biggest hair hall of fame though! ha! Is that a little boy or girl???

Scroll down to view the contestants and the final winner!!

Tina from my MOPS group. This first photo cracks me up! When I asked Tina if she had big 80’s hair, she replied “They didn’t call me the wall for nothing!” ha!

Oh… I had a green metallic dress just like this! I really like your hair here… not ugly 80’s at all:-)

Tina my friend from college.

She had the biggest hair of us all by far!! She can’t win though because this photo was from the 90’s!! ha. Yes, we still tease her to this day about it. I’m on the far left and my bangs are still pretty high several years after the big hair fad, so I can’t tease too much:-)

Below are fellow bloggers. Please visit their sites to see what they look like now!

Some bloggers you may already know, like this pretty mama…

Julia @ Hooked on Houses

She was rocking that perm!!! ha!

Cheryl @ Down in the Bog

I think she was ultra cool back in the day! Cheryl, you’re the only one without a perm… so you were way ahead of your time:-)

Dot @ Dot’s Spot

Wow! Look at those tight curls!! I love that dark red hair! You look the exact same now, just minus the perm:-)

Angie @ The Arthur Clan

OMG! Angie, your hair is not the biggest, but it sure made me laugh the hardest!!! ha! The funniest, was her son looked at the pictures and said “Look at that funny boy!”  and then (even better) “That funny boy is wearing a dress!”  Hysterical:-)

Susan @ Blessed Nonetheless

This was one of her beautiful model shots. I think she’s making us all look bad:-)

Just in case you missed my big hair photo…

And now for the winners…

Yes! There are two winners!! I just couldn’t decide. So both of you lovely big haired ladies get some Starbucks on me.

Bella @ Bella Casa

These bangs are so high, it looks like you sort of have a mohawk!! Love the glasses… I had them in white! ha. The future’s so bright… I gotta wear shades. (80’s song reference for you young ones:-)

KayVonne

This hair you had going on as a bride’s maid has to be the biggest thing!! Oh, and it was swooped to one side. ha!

Here she is on the far left. Classic 80’s group hair! ha.

These guys look like they are from Karate Kid!! She was a black eyed pea, but the drug store developed the film backwards. Remember film people? Now this is some BIG hair!!! It’s not only tall, but WIDE! ha!

Bella and KayVonne please email me your address and I’ll get your gift card in the mail.

Again, thanks to all of you for making my Wednesday so much fun!!!

My kids get a kick out of my big hair picture! Just think about how much time I spent on my hair back then!!!! No wonder I prefer short hair now!

I am so proud to be a winner in your 80’s Hair contest, Amy, lol. Those were some of the best years of my life…although you would never know it from that pic of me, haha, I look so mad, hilarious!!!

Great pics from all of the contestants…Julia from Hooked On Houses, you had the Aqua Net going on ;) haha

Thanks so much, this was fun, will be sure to blog about it, too :)

What’s really amazing is how I hated having such thick hair back then. Whenever I went to the beach, it turned into a sea of frizz. Now, I’d give anything to have my thick hair back!! (somewhere I remember someone telling me to be careful what you wish for….)

What really is amazing is how funny things look to us today – great for laughs – but how it was just so “normal” at the time.

    Fun stuff, Amy!!

Oh, my gosh, I LOVE these!!! The winners truly deserved the Big Hair Crown. Here I thought mine was poofy!

I wonder if any of the companies that made perm solutions in those days are still in business? I sure don’t miss those days at the salon, sitting with that smelly stuff on my hair as my scalp burned.

Bella, I like you even more now that I’ve seen your rad ’80s style (I had those glasses in white, too, Amy!). I feel sorry for anyone who missed this decade because it was rockin’. Ha. -Julia

Bella, I’m cracking up. You had the look.

I didn’t get around to finding my 80’s hair photos (phew, you can all breathe a sigh of relief) but I had a good laugh at all of you. With you. Laughing WITH you. Because I was there. And I completely understand.

Super-”BIG HAIR” congrats to all the winners. You earned it. :)

That is some of the biggest hair I’ve ever seen! I didn’t play because the oldest I ever was in the 80s was 9, so anything that happened to my hair was really my mom’s fault (except for the time I cut my bangs myself).

    Thanks for the laughs, everyone!

    AMY, AMY, AMY!
I am still laughing!! My youngest daughter wore the POOF on top too. Isn’t it amazing how styles do change? Don’t think anyone will ever be going back to that particular style.

I need to catch up here on your blog; have missed you! Looks like you are keeping very busy. Love all of these craft things, even if I can’t STAND Halloween…I don’t know why I feel that way…it’s just one of those I never cared for much. It always seemed my kids, if they got sick, it was always around Halloween. Maybe that’s it.

You have a wonderful evening; so good to “see” ya!

Love from East Texas to you! Ruth Ann

It’s all so fabulous! Bella’s look is so classic 80’s! I love those glasses! Did you know they’ve come back in style? I think I need to get some. Aaaah, the 80’s… good times. Except that big hair family… that’s just a little scary.

Amy, these were SO great!! I loved looking at all the pics & reading your comments. Btw, I did have perms in the 80’s, just not in my Junior Year (which was the year I had the pics for). As for being “cool”…. I was a little punk rock misfit who was in the Marching Band. I had an attitude yes, but I don’t know how cool I was. HAHA.

Thanks again for letting us participate!
