Weekend Update

I’ve been away from my computer for while because my husband has been having knee surgery to repair his torn ACL and meniscus. Since I didn’t know what either of those were, I found this photo. Apparently his ACL was ripped totally apart. Yikes!

We just got home and now his leg is attached to a machine to bend his knee. He has to have it on for 2 hours, then off for 2 hours, 8 hours a day for 14 days! Not fun! So I hope to have time to get some bloggy things done sometime. I have lots of neat Christmas ideas, I just need to find the time to sit down and make them. Can anyone add more time to my day please? Wouldn’t that be nice?!

I was surprised when I got home to find I Heart Faces had been featured on Blurb’s blog!

If you didn’t know, I just made a cool Blurb book for I Heart Faces. If you are needing a fun gift for the holidays, make a book! They are so easy to make and really nice. Plus, what grandma wouldn’t want a book of their grandbabies?

I hope you have a nice weekend! I’ll be taking care of the hubs, messing with this giant knee moving machine and probably cleaning to get ready for my mom who is visiting for Thanksgiving. What are your plans? Are you traveling for Thanksgiving?

New Photography Toys

I have a few new toys I wanted to share with you. First off, I got a new Tamron camera lens this weekend at the I Heart Faces Photography workshop. I just upgraded to a DSLR camera a few months ago, so I wasn’t sure if getting a lens was something I really needed. But after they let us test some out for the day, I was hooked on the 18-270mm VC lens.

I’ve been trying it out since getting home and loving it. I didn’t move on these 2 shots which were taken about 3-5 seconds apart.

Very cool! I love the 15X zoom and stabilizer! Now I can sneak photos of my kids without them knowing.

Another fun toy I have is FREE!

I found a new website called Photovisi that allows you to easily create photo collages in seconds. I made these from some of the workshop photos from our workshop Flickr pool.

Aren’t these fun? You can make one then download the image for free. There are several fun designs to choose from. Be sure to visit I Heart Faces for re-caps of our workshop. It was so much fun!!
